What Are the Major Attractions for Seniors in Branson?
It depends on how active the seniors are! As a senior myself, I don’t want to find myself doing a lot of walking. So, I enjoy the live shows. Other than some hilly terrain in some of the parking lots, parking is for the most part very easy. There are also dinner theatres and even a murder mystery dinner theatre. Some of the live shows offer dinner before the performance. A lot of the shows are ‘country’ in nature and a lot of fun. Some of the are very loud with music for younger people. You’ll have to decide what kind of entertainment you like! Sight & Sound Theatres always have wonderful performances. The Branson Belle Showboat always makes for a nice evening with a dinner cruise.
Many seniors enjoy the many golf courses in the Branson area. If you enjoy miniature golf, there are a lot of those in Branson as well.
Branon shopping is something else that you might enjoy as seniors, and I’ve listed some of the shopping areas below. The malls are outdoors, so be aware of weather conditions.
Inspiration Tower is good and I believe there is a zip line there. Are you up for a zipline ride? LOL
You might enjoy some of the wineries. In addition to wine tasting, you will also find ‘moonshine’ tasting.
The museums are always interesting. The Titanic Museum would be the largest one, but there are car museums, tractor museums, and even a toy museum.
Don’t forget the wonderful variety of restaurants. Don’t miss Top of the Rock if you want to see spectacular views. You will truly enjoy it, but you will have to take a healthy pocketbook. Actually, there are 4 or 5 restaurants at Top of the Rock, my favorite being the Osage. Paula Deen has recently opened a new restaurant at Branson Landing, but they don’t take reservations, so you might have a long wait. There are several restaurants at Branson Landing that you might enjoy. Another nice restaurant is at the Keeter Center, at the College of the Ozarks. It’s a Farm-to-Table restaurant that is operated entirely by the students working themselves through college. You can take home a lot of their goodies from the gift shop.
The lakes offer a lot of fun if you like water sports or fishing. You can visit the trout hatchery at Lake Taneycomo.
